HDMI on the Xoom

To be honest I was kind of expecting the HDMI port to work like it does on the Droid X. For those not familiar with the Droid X I mean when I say "work" I mean limited based on the application connected to the HDMI port. The Droid X will NOT allow you to send video down the HDMI cable except from an "approved" application. To my surprise it seems like the HDMI port works as a "second display" on the Xoom. I just plugged it in and it WORKED! The only thing you need to buy is a Micro HDMI to HDMI Cable


I think my only complaint on the deal is the charging dock. The dock I bought from Verizon does not have an HDMI out so there is no "good" way for me to use it. Here it is sitting against my TV so you can get a feel for it. Just FYI: the image is razor sharp but this is a poor photograph.
